Program Levels

TOTS
Our TOTS program is designed to expose children 3-4 years of age to the love and artistry of dance and music. Through play, children are provided with the foundation for all movement and dance forms.

PRIMARY COMBO
Our PRIMARY COMBO classes are designed for 5-6-year-old students and consist of exclusive 15-minute segments of Jazz, Tap, Ballet, and Modern/Creative Movement. Students are exposed to foundational techniques in each style to set them up for success in whatever path they choose in the future.

JUNIOR
Our JUNIOR classes are designed for students aged 7-9. We offer combination classes that consist of 30-minute back-to-back segments of Jazz, Ballet, and Tap and hour-long classes in Modern and Hip Hop. Junior Essentials is designed for first-to-second-year JUNIOR students, and Junior Skills is designed for second-to-third-year JUNIOR students.

BALLET

CONTEMP/MODERN

JAZZ
We pride ourselves on offering BALLET classes that leverage exam quality standards without exposing students to the construct of examinations. In these classes, students will study unset classical ballet from teachers either trained in the IMPERIAL CLASSICAL BALLET method or certified through the ROYAL ACADEMY OF DANCE.
In our robust CONTEMPORARY/MODERN program, students will study movement and creation through authentic modern-based techniques such as those developed by MARTHA GRAHAM, JOSE LIMONE, MERCE CUNNINGHAM, and LESTER HORTON. Student creativity will be nurtured through the exploration of creative movement and improvisation.
In our JAZZ program, students will study a rich variety of JAZZ techniques; they will study currently popular styles along side the styles developed by JAZZ dance icons such as BOB FOSSEE and LUIGI. Students will build strength, precision, technique, flexibility, and body awareness in a fun and inclusive environment.

HIP HOP
Our HIP HOP program is available to students of all levels, aged 7 and up. Our HIP HOP instructors are incredibly talented, versatile, and passionate. In these classes students are exposed to a variety of HIP HOP techniques including, but not limited to, House, Breaking, Tutting, Popping, and Locking.

TAP
In our TAP program, students of all levels will learn about the evolution and history of TAP dance. Our program focuses on the importance of musicality, percussion, improvisation, and expression in a fun and inclusive environment.

LYRICAL
Our LYRICAL program concentrates on fostering technical training through center work and across-the-floor progressions. The basis of this technique is founded in a beautiful fusion of Ballet and Jazz.

POINTE
Our POINTE classes are offered to students in our senior-level program in conjunction with, but separate from, our regular Ballet program. They are optional in addition to Ballet classes. These classes extend our dancers' Ballet training with a focus on specific skills required for Pointe work.

BABY DANCE TIME
Bond, move, and play with your little one in our fun and engaging parent-participation classes! Through music, movement, songs, and games, children develop musicality, spatial awareness, direction, and shape while parents enjoy a light workout. Available as either Babe in Arms (in a carrier or wrap) or Baby by Your Side for little ones aged 3 months to 2 years.
We pride ourselves on making dance affordable and available for all students. Our studio is unique in how we structure our participation in competitions/festivals. Our regular weekday classes focus on technique rather than on choreography for competitions/festivals. In these classes, all students - including those who wish to participate in competitions and those who do not - focus on the study of technique in addition to learning and performing two dances - one for our informal Winter Showcase in December and one for our annual recital in June.
Our wonderful faculty volunteers their time to choreograph routines for competitions that are rehearsed on the weekend (mainly on Saturday, with some rehearsals occurring on Friday, depending on student/teacher availability). We do not charge for competition/festival rehearsals; in turn, we ask that our competition/festival dancers take specific technique classes, including Ballet and Modern. Our competition/festival rehearsals alternate so that each dance is rehearsed every other weekend - however, in March and April, we typically rehearse every single weekend. All students aged 7+ who are interested in competitions are invited to come to our Competition Orientation in September. Students are selected to dance in appropriate routines at that time. Students/caregivers are encouraged to participate in negotiating the appropriate level of commitment.
Costs for competitions include entrance and costume fees exclusively - dancers are not charged for choreography nor rehearsals.
(We use costumes from our wardrobe, so costumes are rented for a small fee rather than purchased).
