Schedule

Competition rehearsals take place on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings and afternoons. 

We will try to work around other commitments that dancers have, but we require open communication to make this possible, and this will prove more challenging after the February break. Keep communicating with us as conflicts arise. Let’s be in constant, open communication.

Commitment 

We expect students to prioritize competition rehearsals. 

• We must be informed of absences. The best way to do this is through Remind. The competition code for Remind is @dwcompete. 

• If a dancer regularly misses rehearsals, we may need to adjust participation (this will be handled on a case-by-case basis).

• Dancers are asked to be conscientious that their body is their instrument and to be mindful of chosen activities such as skiing, the trampoline park, and other dangerous activities (especially after New Year's when an injury would highly impact participation). 

• In the event of a missed rehearsal, dancers are expected to learn any missed material before the next rehearsal. 

 

 

Costs

Our staff volunteers their time for choreography and rehearsals. The only costs for participation are the competition entry fee, which is set by the competition, and a small costume rental fee.

Technique Class Requirements

• Dancers performing in 3 or more dances, must enrol in both Ballet and Modern classes. 

• Dancers performing 3 or fewer dances, must take either Ballet or Modern. 

• *Exceptions are made for dancers performing Hip Hop or Tap dances.

• We are willing to work with each and every dancer to find a plan that serves them best. If you want to dance… we want to dance with you and will work hard to accommodate your needs!!
